Wedding Budget Tip #19: Consider a Brunch Wedding
Learn how having a brunch wedding can save you lots of money on your big day!

This post is part of a recurring series here on BSB where we share wedding budget tips to help you save money on your wedding! This tip is about the savvy benefits of a brunch wedding! You can access all the wedding budget tips on a single page for your convenience and future reference.

Wedding Budget Tip #19:
Consider having a brunch wedding as a way to save money on many different aspects of your day.
When it comes to your wedding budget, the reception typically takes up a sizable portion of your total spend. And the majority of the reception expenses will likely come from your food and beverage, so thinking outside the box when it comes to cuisine is a great way to save money.
One of my favorite ideas? Plan a brunch wedding! Not only is this idea a good way to save some cash, but it’s also a great choice in terms of aesthetics and edibles!

Brunch Weddings allow for Inexpensive Food Options
If you’re anything like us, you think that brunch is the best meal ever. And the best part is that most of the food is super affordable, too. Think eggs, breakfast casseroles, hash browns, pancakes, etc — delicious *and* budget-friendly.
You could save money on your liquor bill by only serving Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s as your signature cocktails instead of a full open bar. Sounds like foodie heaven to us!
Having a Brunch Wedding Can Save You Money
And beyond just the cost of the food, having a daytime wedding is likely to save you money as well! Since most weddings take place during the evenings, you can score a discount on the rental of your wedding venue by having a morning ceremony, like this Budget-Friendly Brunch Wedding we featured. You also won’t likely have a big raging dance party, so you can go simple on the wedding entertainment and set up a DIY DJ station.
Did we mention that a daytime wedding also affords you the luxury of plenty of daylight for your wedding photos? We’ve said it time and time again — natural light is the absolute best for your wedding pictures, so with a brunch wedding you’ll have plenty of it, weather permitting!
Inspiration for a brunch wedding
Can’t you just imagine it? A lovely day in May, a tent outside with delicious food, surrounded by spring wildflowers. We’re thinking a custom omelet bar, waffle bar, pastries, etc! It wouldn’t be too expensive because eggs are cheap, y’all!
Also, we love natural light for photos so we’re big fans of hosting a daytime wedding. Spring is the perfect season for pretty wildflowers like daffodils and daisies– and these flowers are also reasonably priced! For some reason, we’re really feeling the sunshiney yellow as the perfect color for a brunch wedding!
