Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?
Yes, we did many! The father of the groom made cornhole boards that served as our guestbook.
We made our memory picture hoop, bridal and wedding party bouquets, and also all of the boutonnieres and corsages. We also made the mason jar aisle decorations, ring bearer wagon, and the photo challenge.
The mother of the groom made cookies and mints as well.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We had a popcorn bar, and a taco bar (which is the bride’s favorite food)!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
The most memorable moment of the day was our rings being misplaced right before the bride walked out, and the brother in law running to the rescue with the rings!
Another memorable moment was the father of the groom walking out in his “My Favorite Child is My Daughter-In-Law” shirt. The bride took a pre-ceremony shot with her father.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We purchased a lot of our decor from Temu to arrange ourselves. We also recruited the help of our families – from DIY projects to day of coordination.
What was your biggest splurge?
Our biggest splurges were the venue, photography and videography.
What were your favorite details?
The bride’s nephew rode down the aisle in the wagon with the “ring security”! Another favorite detail was the bride’s entrance – being escorted by both parents.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Our best advice would be to splurge on photography and videography. It will be cherished by multiple people to reminisce the special day. Get comfy shoes for the reception! $13 Temu shoes worked wonders for the bride.
