Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?

The mother of the bride handmade small party favors for us. It was very memorable!

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

The bride made her own bouquet from Safeway. She loves sunflowers, so it had a few of those. It also had some pink roses in memory of her grandmother, and red roses in memory of Joseph’s mother.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

For the groom, it was hearing her vows. It brought amazing and loving tears to my eyes. You tell a person you love them, but actually hearing why makes it mean a lot more.

For the bride, it was a true blessing having both families in the same place at the same time to celebrate us.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We used Simply Eloped. They helped with vendors and locations. For a couple that wanted something like we did, we had no idea where we were going to start! Simply Eloped helped with all of those needs.

What was your biggest splurge?

Our biggest splurge would be the bride’s hair and makeup. The bride also wanted her mother to look amazing, so she treated her to that as well!

What was your favorite detail?

Our favorite detail was something we could not control: the weather. We lucked out on a bright and sunny day in Lake Tahoe. Birds chirping and the waves crashing in the background made for the perfect wedding day.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Our best advice is to do your homework on venues and vendors. Get what you want! Just because you have a budget does not mean you can’t get a form of what you want for your special day.
