What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We spent the time before the wedding writing our own vows to add a personal touch to the ceremony.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
Seeing my husband for the first time and him seeing me. We shared a really special personal moment and it was lovely.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
The biggest thing we did to save money was eloping with two guests! Not only did it save us so much money, but we also got a weeks holiday out of it as well for less than it would have cost us to do our wedding at home.
What was your biggest splurge?
The flights and accommodation – but we did choose to stay a week to celebrate!
What were your favorite details?
The flowers were perfect! Another favorite detail was picking up our own cake so we could still cut the cake at our elopement. It was a lovely touch.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Speaking to others, a lot of people say, “I wish we had eloped”. If you are thinking about it – just do it! Do what’s right for you as it’s your day. It was the most stress-free experience and day which was everything we wished for.
Share any additional details you’d like us to know about your event:
We celebrated our elopement with our two friends which was such a lovely experience to share with them. The weather was really good too and it was a clear day. We ended the day by going for a nice meal at our resort and then going to the pub! It really was perfect.
